The best YouTube Music stats apps in 2026
Seven options, what each one reads, and where each one wins.
For YouTube Music stats on Android, a scrobbler such as Pano Scrobbler logs new plays after setup; coverage depends on notification permissions and tracking rules. On iPhone, use Google Takeout for dated listening history. Listenality adds a taste profile on both phones, Takeout history imports and Android play tracking.

We make Listenality, so read this list with that in mind.
Quick picks
- Android, play logging after setup, free: Pano Scrobbler.
- Your whole history tonight, free: a Takeout reader.
- Both phones and several services: Shuffl.
- iPhone and Android, taste analysis plus Takeout history: Listenality.
- Just curious a few times a year: Recap.
One fact shapes every entry. Since 2016 the YouTube Data API has returned an empty list for watch history (YouTube Data API revision history), so a YouTube Music stats tool gets plays in one of two ways: from a Google Takeout file you download, or by counting plays on an Android phone as they happen.
How we ranked them
- Stats in minutes: useful results soon after you start, not weeks later.
- Full history import: reads your Google Takeout history, not just plays from today.
- Weekly recap: something new to look at each week.
- Both platforms: works on iPhone and Android.
- Receipts: every claim shows the songs behind it.
The table separates platform support, imported history and new-play tracking. Weekly recap support depends on the phone.

1. Listenality
Connect YouTube Music and Listenality reads your liked songs and YouTube Music playlist tracks with available add dates: top artists, genres, moods, eras, a musical personality and a roast, and every claim shows the songs behind it. Import a Google Takeout file and it reads your plays back years. On iPhone, a fresh Takeout each month supplies the monthly recap. On Android, enabled play tracking supplies new plays for weekly and monthly recaps. You get share cards sized for stories and a private link to compare taste with a friend.
Keep in mind: older plays need Google Takeout on either phone. On iPhone, YouTube Music recaps need fresh imports and there is no weekly recap. Android tracks new plays after setup, with coverage depending on permissions and background access. The year-end recap is part of Listenality Plus.
2. Pano Scrobbler with Last.fm
Pano Scrobbler is free, open source and has no ads. On Android it logs what the YouTube Music app plays to Last.fm, ListenBrainz or Libre.fm, and Last.fm turns that into charts. Where it wins: play logging from install, at no cost. Its FAQ asks you to play music in the YouTube Music app rather than YouTube, because it cannot tell a music video from other videos (FAQ). It does not read your older history.
3. Now Playing: Stats & Scrobble
Now Playing is an Android app that reads active playback from YouTube Music through notification access and keeps a private journal with charts on your phone. Where it wins: you do not need a Last.fm account, though it can scrobble to one. Like any scrobbler, it counts from the day you start.
4. Shuffl
Shuffl connects Apple Music, YouTube Music and Last.fm, runs on the web, iPhone and Android, and publishes a Takeout import guide that filters to YouTube Music plays. Where it wins: it covers both phones and several services in one account. Its free tier is limited to one service and six months of history; Pro is $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
5. Free Your Music
Free Your Music offers top artists, songs, genres and minutes any day of the year and says it reads your library and playback through YouTube Music's official sign-in. Basic stats are free. Where it wins: no file to download. We could not check how it gets playback, given the API limit above, so test it against your own Recap.
6. Free Takeout readers: Playback Stats and YT Music Stats
Playback Stats reads your Takeout file inside your browser and says the file never leaves your device. YT Music Stats is free and open source and ranks top artists and most played tracks. Where they win: free, no install, and your full history in one sitting. Neither updates on its own; you re-export to refresh.
7. YouTube Music Recap
The built-in Recap gives seasonal and year-end top songs, artists and podcasts with share cards, and your channel page shows what you have on repeat, refreshed daily. Where it wins: free, already installed, and Google uses the listening history it has retained. It needs watch history on and enough listening (4 hours a season, or 10 hours by November 15 for the year-end recap).
Questions
Is there a stats.fm for YouTube Music?
Not in the same form, because YouTube does not give apps your play history through its API. Tools either read a Google Takeout file or, on Android, count plays as they happen.
What is the best free YouTube Music stats app?
On Android, Pano Scrobbler with Last.fm is free and open source and counts plays from install. For past history on any device, Playback Stats and YT Music Stats read a Takeout file for free.
Can any app track YouTube Music plays on iPhone?
Not in the background. iPhone does not let one app see what another app plays. On iPhone you use Recap, On repeat, or a Takeout file.
Do these apps change my YouTube Music library?
Listenality is read-only, apart from a playlist you ask it to save. For other apps, check the permissions each one asks for when you sign in.
Why do different apps show different top artists?
They read different data: a scrobbler counts only from install, a Takeout reader sees years, and Recap covers a set season. They also differ in how they separate music from other YouTube videos.
Listenality supports Apple Music and YouTube Music on iPhone, and YouTube Music on Android.
