Listenality

Terms of Service

Effective September 5, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Listenality when you use the Listenality app or this site. They are written to be read. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service.

What Listenality is

Listenality turns the music library you connect or import into analytics, readings, and shareable cards about your taste. What it can measure depends on what your music platform provides: some platforms report plays, some only what you saved, and the app says which is which rather than guessing.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and the information you give us must be yours. One account is for one person. You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Settings: deletion is immediate and permanent.

Purchases and subscriptions

Some features are paid. Purchases are made through Apple's App Store and billed by Apple to your Apple ID; prices are shown in the app at the moment of purchase. There are two kinds: auto-renewing subscriptions (such as Plus, and the yearly Rhythm plan) and one-time purchases (such as the Reading).

A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings, not in the app. Where a free period is offered, what you see at purchase is what applies, and any unused part of a free period is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms. One-time purchases are tied to your account and are not consumed by deleting the app; deleting your account, however, deletes the account they are tied to.

Your data, and the files you upload

Your library, your listening history, and the files you upload stay yours. You may only upload history exports you requested yourself, from your own accounts. We parse an uploaded archive, keep only the music rows, and delete the file itself as soon as parsing finishes. What we collect and how to delete it is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Connected services

Connecting a music platform happens through that platform's own sign-in, and your use of that platform stays governed by its own terms. When you connect YouTube, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service; the Google Privacy Policy describes how Google handles your data, and you can revoke Listenality's access at any time in your Google security settings. Apple Music connects through Apple's MusicKit under Apple's terms.

Readings and generated content

The readings, roasts, and reports are generated interpretations of your library, made with the help of AI models. They are for your own insight and entertainment. They can be wrong, and they are opinions about music taste, not facts about you. The cards and readings we generate for you are yours to keep and share personally.

What is ours

The app, the site, their design, and their code are ours. Using Listenality does not give you a license to copy, resell, scrape, or build a competing dataset from the service. Feedback you send us can be used to improve the product without owing you anything for it.

Acceptable use

Do not break the service, probe it for weaknesses, use it to violate someone else's rights, upload files that are not yours to upload, or automate access outside the app and site. We can suspend or close an account that does, and we can end or change the service itself; if we discontinue a paid feature you have an active subscription to, Apple's refund rules apply.

No warranties, limited liability

Listenality is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. The analytics depend on the data your platforms and exports actually contain, and we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update this page and its effective date. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the changed terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and disputes belong to the courts of Ontario, except where the law of your home country gives you rights that cannot be taken away by this choice.
